Day #12.

The weather has taken an amazing turn for the Oklahomans, and has been in the 90's for the past few days.

Travels on the highways here aren't as busy as Pittsburgh, or better yet, Philly. It's extremely easy to snap a photo while traveling roughly 50mph. So I promise you, I was safe when I took the picture above. (:

Above, is a picture of a highway between Oklahoma and Kansas, someone else was driving. It turned out good though, definitely blog worthy.

 -

Looking at these photos, I'm reminded of some of the best and worst moments here. I think back to 115 degree days and receiving an ice cold Mountain Dew from a drive thru teen at Taco Bell, and how nothing else in the world could have gone better without that refreshing soda (pop).

-

My first experience with a tumbleweed was here, a real tumbleweed! Who would have thought something like a dried up bush would be so damn exciting? I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it. Never forget that...

 -

Another thing I couldn't fathom was that the South had ice storms more than snow storms.

After it happened, I never doubted anyone's word about the weather again.

-

And although Starbucks may not be anything compared to a coffee in Seattle, it's our Washington cup of joe down here.

A tree outside Starbucks in Lawton. Cherry Blossom? The leaves were blowing off the branches landing all over my car. It was beautiful.

-

Found out on my own that there are tons of birds here during the Summer. Their chirping is in surround sound on max volume. Kind of scary at first...

Oklahoma must be the rest stop for birds everywhere!

-

I have no pictures of the deer here, but I must insist that Oklahoma deer are quite large. I like to call them cows here. ^_^ I guess hunting in Pennsylvania is much more popular than here.

Boars. You know, those large angry pigs? Yeah, they're also here. One morning on my way to work, I looked down at the time on my head unit and when I looked up I saw a black boar running into the road. Everything from my backseat was in my front seat after I slammed on the brakes. My instinctive-arm-guard move tried to save the invisible passenger in my car. Poor Mazda wouldn't be zoomin' then!

Sorry, no picture of the Boar. :(

-

Coupled with 3 digit degree weather and consistent high winds, this happens:

Fires. Everywhere.

One windy evening Lawton was covered in what looked like fog, but turned out to be smoke from another town close by.

-

One thing I won't miss: Tarantulas and scorpions.

Now I have that creepy crawly feeling all over me. Damn.
